Which type?: There are many types of dissolvable sutures (vicryl, monocryl, generics, etc) and each type has it's only rate of body absorption. Generally, they start to lose strength at 1-2 weeks and can take up to 3-6 months or more for complete dissolution.

About 4 to 6 weeks: Variable that impact time to dissolve include size and type of suture, your response to the suture and the knots. The knots often take longer to dissolve. If you have not made your post op appointment, please do. This is a good question for your surgery team. Be well.
