Lots of calories: As well as the underlying psychological issues related to the pica. In addition, there may be some adverse effects on the absorption of vitamins and other essential nutrients. There is often some underlying trauma issue that leads to the compulsive ingestion of non-food substances, including clay, other kinds of dirt, ice and things like corn flour. I would suggest a mental health evaluation.
