A member asked:

Is an underweight bmi consistent with someone being fat?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: They can still have excess fat and very little muscle tissue due to poor dietary intake and very limited exercise -- but it is not nearly as common as people who are fat with a high bmi.
