I was curious, do broken hands need plaster casts?

Broken hand: Depends entirely on where the break is and the severity. Some minor fractures of the fingers need only taping support (buddy taping), while other more severe injuries of the metacarpals or phalanges need more protection and support with either a cast or even surgical correction with pins or plates/screws.
