No: Your stomach is inside your abdominal wall. Abs refer to the muscles that line the anterior abdominal wall. Situps will allow you to get abs. A firm abdominal wall will have your stomach distend less anteriorly and more inferiorly or posteriorly where there is more give to the surrounding tissues. This gives one the sense of flatness.

To tighten ab's do crunches, reverse crunches, exercise ball crunches, pelvic thrusts, lying leg raises, side bridge ; “bicycling” exercise on your back.
