Nature & Nurture: There may be some increased incidence of schizoid pd in relatives of schizophrenic and schizotypal pd, so there may be some genetic linkage. There may also be a heritable constitutional pattern of shyness that precedes the disorder. Prenatal exposure to famine may be a factor: http://tinyurl.Com/lnp4ewh experiencing early cold, neglectful relationships may be a risk factor as well.
