Are teenagers old enough to have borderline personality disorder?

Possibly: Borderline personality disorder cannot (according to the dsm) be diagnosed before the age of 18. So it is possible to see the first signs of this disorder in late teen years. It usually shows up as the person is beginning to make the transition to adulthood.
