Therapy and meds: Ocd can be managed by a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy and serotonergic medications (ssri's). Some reading about the illness is probably of benefit as well, such as the books 'stop obsessing' and 'the boy who couldn't stop washing'. However, the self-help techniques shouldn't be used as a substitute for working with a professional who knows how to treat ocd.
