A member asked:

I just had my wisdom teeth extracted, and one of the socket's blood clot is abnormally large; larger than the adjoining tooth in fact. should i worry?

No: As long as you don't continue to get oozing of blood and the clot continues to grow in size. All questions should be directed to the dentist who actually extracted your wisdom teeth. Call and explain the situation and ask if you need to be seen for this as well as when he\she would like to see you next.

Don't worry: The size of the clot is not important, the important thing is that it stays there. Follow the instructions from your dentist or oral surgeon regarding care and eating. Call your dentist or oral surgeon if you have any questions about this.
