A member asked:

I am 36 weeks pregnant. my hev igm is non-reactive (1.428), cutoff 1.0. do i have hep e?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hepatitis E: Hev progresses to fatal fulminant hepatitis in at least 15% to 30% of pregnant patients, especially in the third trimester. The infection may also manifest without jaundice or be present subclinically. The diagnosis may be enhanced by measurement of RNA by rt-pcr. The results you give are normal. Have you been out of the us or just worried.
