Fever: The cut off most doctors use to define a fever is 100.4 (or100.5). When kids get sick they have an increase over their regular body temperature. Yes: A temperature is considered normal up to 100.4. Your son may have allergies causing a runny nose and swollen eyes or may have a minor cold, but his temperature is normal at 99.4.
