A member asked:

Is it possible to have spontaneous intracranial hypotension (sih) for 7 months with no diagnosis? had mri, ct scan. is this likely? headache nonstop.

SIH: Pseudotumor cerebri is intracranial hypertension without malignant cause. It's, however, rare. If your lumbar puncture is normal as well as brain mri, then the diagnosis is very unlikely.

Yes.: Specialized tests my be needed to detect the source of sih. Mri and ct myelograms may be necessary to confirm and localize the diagnosis of a CSF leak. I would consult a neurologist. In philly, penn and jefferson have the top programs. Unfortunately, i don't have a specific referral for you.
