Chronic pelvic pain: Chronic pain in low back a decade after a "tailbone" fracture arouses concern for chronic injury to sacroiliac joint (sij), which medical literature identifies as generator of 10-30% of chronic low back pain. A force great enough to break a bone can certainly injure contiguous joint ligaments. Most doctor are ill informed about this joint. Osteopaths often understand functions of this joint.
