Who do you trust?: The cdc has a web page that tries to lower the hysterical reactions many people have to "toxic " mold. They do acknowledge that for some sensitive people it can be very harmful, but to most they suggest that it is not a major threat. I am one of those with allergies to mold (and so many other things), so for me the answer is "yes". You might not have a big problem.

Allergy consult: The toxic effects from "black mold"exposure are often exaggerated. A certain percentage of people exposed to it may develop asthma, hay fever, sinus infections etc. The best treatment is to move out of the place where the black mold has been found until the problem has been fixed. If problem continues, see an allergist.
