Sensitive teeth: It is very hard to say that without examining your mouth. However , if you have generalized sensitivity to hot and cold it may just be sensitive teeth and use of a toothpaste with desensitizer may help. However, best is to consult a dentist to make sure there are no cavities. The desensitizing toothpaste will not help if there are cavities.

Sensitive teeth: Sensitive teeth can be caused by a number of things including cavities. The only way to know for sure is to do a clinical examination with some radiographs. If left untreated cavities will lead to eventual tooth loss or a more time consuming, more expensive procedure.
