Fats ; Cavities: Fats do not cause cavities, but fats are contained in many foods that also contain sugars and starches. Both sugars ; starches are a quick source of mouth bacteria. They eat sugars ; starches, break down, and "go to bathroom" so to speak--right in your mouth. What bacteria put out, after eating sugars ; starches, is acid. This acid byproduct from bacteria melts hard part of teeth, causes cavities.
