Wisdom Tooth: The swollen gums due to a wisdom tooth can be remedied in two ways. First, the offending tooth can simply be removed. Second, the tissue around the tooth can be surgically removed, so that you can clean the tooth at home. I would go and get it looked at.

Antibiotics, surgery: Antibiotics can help decrease the swelling, but this is usually an indication that there isn't enough room for the wisdom tooth to come all the way in. You probably need to have it removed. Trying to create more space by removing gum tissue can lead to nerve damage.
