I'm happy for you: Congratulations on recognizing the problem. Your physician will probably ask to have these repeated in two weeks off alcohol. They will probably be normal. You have dodged a bullet. Your life will be far better without alcohol, and my hope is that the new friendships and activities that you find will be as richly rewarding as others who have had the same experience.

Often the whites of my eyes get a yellow tinge to them, I know this is a problem of the liver, and alcohol obviously affects it but it also happens if I havent been drinking. If I go for blood tests will it help find out why this is happening?

I have normal liver USG but with mild hepatomegaly (I am a daily drinker) - no sign of fat. All blood tests are also normal. If I abstain from alcohol for at least 30 days would it be something significant for liver to shrink back to normal size?

No chronic diseases.Daily 5-6 units alcohol intake for 3 years,GGT 19,LDH 184,ALP 43, AST 24, ALT 32 and USG shows 166mm liver length.USG tells mild hepatomegaly without any structural problems.37 years,177cm,79kg.Will alcohol abstinence help resolve?
