Takes several months: Costochondrial separations are seen commonly as sports injuries, from twisting forces. They take several months to heal and the key is to reduce the pain so that breathing is not problematic. A good evaluation including possible MRI to rule out other issues. Wrapping or taping may be difficult at this high level, but more useful at the lower levels. Hypermobility syndrome is sometimes associated.
