Food intolerance: A negative allergy test is pretty good about saying a person is not allergic to a food. Many food reactions can be "non-allergic" and frequently termed intolerance. An example is lactose intolerance. These usually are gastrointestinal symptoms and most people can eat small amounts, but with increasing amounts, come GI symptoms.

Not 100%: If both tests are negative, the chance of being allergic to that food is very very small. However when the history of a food allergy is strong, and the tests were negative, i often ask the patient to bring in the fresh food for the testing instead of relying on commercial food extracts. If the person is still quite concerned over it a challenge test can be done at the office.
