Usually: The persistent corpus luteum is important for maintaining an early pregnancy. The can be bleeding or hemorrhage into a corpus luteum and this can take a while to resolve and would not necessarily mean you were pregnant. If you are concerned the safest thing would be to check a home pregnancy test.
