Many things: Pregnancy affects the whole body. Progesterone is the dominant hormone of pregnancy. It causes the basal body temperature to be increased by 1 degree, increased fatigue, and breast enlargement. There is relaxation of the ligments that causes the pelvic bones to widen. As the pregnancy gets further along there is less room in the stomach and breath volume decreases. Heart rate increases.
