Using the DLP,: The estimated effective dose is 7.16 msv. According to research from 2010, this may be a low estimate by about 10%, and there are slight variations based on scanner manufacturer differences. You need to relate this to natural background radiation exposure (3 msv/year), and the reason the ct was performed. For example, if the ct diagnosed appendicitis, then the scan probably saved a life!
