No: Either you have atrial fibrillation or you don't. You can't "increase" it. However, your heart rate may speed up or slow down dramatically w/o any reason. Diltiazem, a non-dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker, keeps your heart from beating too fast, same as beta blockers.
