You aren't alone.: Believe it or not, about 10% of the population shares a fear of needles (or other sharp objects). This is an important issue since you will likely need blood draws at different times through out your life. I would encourage you to see a clinical psychologist in your area who practices cognitive behavioral therapy (cbt). There are other types of treatment available but cbt has a good track record.

In addition, patients learn specific skills that they can use for the rest of their lives. These skills involve identifying distorted thinking, modifying beliefs, relating to others in different ways, and changing behaviors.
