See below: By definition, fasting blood glucose (after 8 hours with no caloric intake) is less than or equal to 100 and "impaired fasting glucose" is between 100 and 125 mg/dl. Above 126 is defined as diabetes mellitus. See your doctor as there are lost of other reasons why a blood glucose could be elevated.
