No: We used to think that testosterone caused prostate cancer, there is no evidence that normal or low levels are associated with increased risk. However, low levels are associated with an increased risk of heart disease, bone loss, loss of muscle, increased fat accumulation, moodiness and a lower feeling of well being. Men with prostate cancer may be treated with medication to lower testosterone.

No: Prostate cancer cannot be caused by either low or high testosterone levels. Low testosterone can suppress prostate cancer cells and high testosterone, usually from exogenous sources, may stimulate preexisting prostate cancer.

No…but: It is not felt that testosterone (t) is the cause of prostate cancer but rather is the fuel source an established prostate cancer takes advantage of. Interestingly, high t levels may be protective from PC while low levels may lead to more aggressive forms of pc. This is because the low level of t may mask a PC for many years thus making the presentation 'later'. Low t is a bad thing imho.
