I want to know what is the difference between an antigen and a microbe (in the immune response)?

Yes: An antigen is an agent , usually a protein, which can potentially trigger an immune response from the body. In autoimmune diseases, an antigen may be a part of you own body. A microbe is a bacterium or a fungus which may or may not trigger an immune response from your body.
