?Status: Having an immune disorder does not mean you have to have an HIV test but if you are having unprotected sex or with multiple partners, then absolutely! The 4th gen HIV test detects HIV much sooner than 3 months...days to weeks because as you correctly stated, it detects the antigen but also the antibody. With an immune disorder, it may take longer to mount an immune response. 4th gen is preferred.
