No: If video screens caused blindness, there would be an epidemic by now. There is no evidence of damage from tv, computer, or smartphone screens. Eye strain is not uncommon, but long term damage does not occur. There is abundant proof of this everywhere nowadays. Looking at screens does hurt other parts of the body due to accidents caused by being visually distracted.
