No danger: Although it can cause eye strain and discomfort, there is no risk of blindness from being too close to a computer monitor or television. The real question is: why would you be sitting so close? You may need glasses, and could benefit from an eye examination.

No: Contrary to what our parents and grandparents have told us, sitting too close to the tv or computer monitor is not harmful to our eyes, but it does make it harder for others to use or enjoy the same screen when we do this.
