Reflux: This is a proton pump inhibitor, a potent antireflux medicine. It is commonly prescribed to treat laryngopharyngeal, or extra-esophageal reflux, where acid burns the voicebox area and even nasal passages. It can take 1-2 months to improve. Ask your ENT about other behavioral changes you can make as well, like sleeping with your head elevated or not eating for 2-3 hours before bed.
