Mosquito Bites: Avoid scratching. Although a mosquito bite should itch for only a few days, continual scratching will increase your discomfort and may prolong the itching. Prescription topical steroids like vanos is very helpful for mosquito bites and is used twice a day.

Mosquito bites: Mosquitoes have an anticoagulant in their saliva, so bruising is common. Store aloe vera gel in refrigerator & apply to affected area. Rub basil leaf on bite. It repels mosquitoes & has anti-inflammatory effect. Consider applying calamine lotion or crushed ice or a cold pack. A 1 to 1 mix of water & baking soda is effective when applied to lesions.
