Age. : The most common cause of prostate enlargement is age-related, called benign prostatic hyperplasia. This is generally not a health problem, unless it begins to restrict urine flow and cause bothersome urinary symptoms. Prostate infection & cancer are other potential causes. If you have any concerns, or if you have a family history of prostate cancer, speak to your primary care physician.
