No: The decision between a mastectomy (whole breast out) vs. Lumpectomy (only the tumor out) depends on many factors. Sometimes is a medical decision but very often is a personal decision made by the patient. Each choice has its pros and cons and patients should be well informed so they can make a selection they feel comfortable with.
