I have a type of rash/wound and it hurts, but that may just be from its location.

Rash: This is a very non specific description, you need to have it examined for a proper diagnosis and treatment.

Get it looked at: This could be just from the lesion itself but could be from shingles or possibly a wound infection depending on what it looks like.

Many possibilities: There are many things that could cause a skin rash. Several types of inflammatory conditions of the skin, allergic reactions, sun exposure, insect bites, and sometimes bacterial, viral or fungal infections can cause rashes on the skin. Have it evaluated by a professional and get the appropriate treatment.
