How is compression fracture diagnosed?

Xrays: Most acute fractures are easily seen on a plain xray. Sometimes depending on the clinical situation an MRI scan or bone scan is necessary.

X-ray: The x-ray would be the first step. If you need to know the new or old compression fracture, the ctscan or MRI wil be the next step, depending on clinical judgement between radiolologist and attending physician.
