Gumption!: I admire your gumption. Really, I do - but definitely talk w/ your providers about your thoughts to be sure it would not be risky - discuss it in detail. It might be a bit too lte to build bone mass - but again, I admire your interest in living healthy. Best to you!

?osteoporosis: Have you had a bone density study to determine whether you have osteoporosis? If you do have it, it needs to be treated in order to avoid future fractures. Discuss this with your physician who will also advise you as to what kind of exercise you should do..

A strength building: program done at your pace may be helpful. If you are going to use weights, do make sure these are not too heavy causing increased pain or muscle damage. Also important is to continue supplementation of your diet with Calcium and Vitamin D. I am sure you have stopped smoking (if you did) - and limiting any alcohol intake.
