Yes: A fracture of the foot is treated depending on the severity of the fracture and location of the fracture. Often a stress fracture can be treated nonsurgically with a stiff soled surgical shoe. Fractures that have displaced or involve the joint often require outpatient surgery to fixated the fracture to ensure proper healing and long term function. Fixation can be screws/plates/pins.
