Many: Would depend on where on the foot the spur is. A heel spur? A midfoot spurring? Spurs are bony overgrowths and can occur on any bone. In reality if the spur is on the bottom of the foot, a heel spur - then this is one case where likely the spur does not have to be removed and conservative care is helpful.

Many options.: Bone spurs can be treated conservatively or surgically. Spurs may develop at any tendinous or ligamentous insertion onto the bone. They can be offloaded or dispersed in order to decrease pressure and pain. If conservative management options do not adequately provide relief of symptoms, surgery may be an option.
