Please tell me how long it takes for to bleed out from a flesh wound/ bite?

Mild or severe?: A mild flesh wound should clot long before one would bleed out. The same is true for most bites but something severe. Like a pit bull or large wild animal catching a major artery could bleed out in a few minutes without first aid.
