Topical cortisone: Try to apply 1% Hydrocortisone cream to the bite site 4x daily for a few days. Covering the area after cortisone application with a bandaid may increase the penetration of cortisone to the skin. However the otc cream may well be too weak and you may need a more potent rx preparation. I have found gold bond anti-itch cream or sarna often helpful in reducing itching.

Why carnt I get rid of my spots on exposed areas. Raised, whitish, itchy. 60 ?

Sun damage?: Raised, itchy, scaly whitish spots on exposed areas of skin may be due to sun damage. If you are of fair complexion, you may be more susceptible to uv damage. Lesions sound like actinic keratoses, a form of sun damage that does have the potential to become skin cancer; so have them examined by fp or dermatologist. Meanwhile, cover exposed areas; use high spf sun block.

Yes: Hydrocortison cream is available over the counter in any pharmacy. It helps relieve the itch you have in a couple of days. Use moisturizing creams immediately after shaving the next time.
