Mole removal: Removal of any suspicious skin growth or lesion is important. The tissue needs to be examined under a microscope to see if any dangerous cellular changes are present. Removal of a lesion is called a biopsy. On the bottom of the foot, a small amount of local anesthetic is injected. When the area is numb, the doctor will remove the mole or skin lesion and may be stitched closed.
