A member asked:

What predisposes someone to chicken pox?

Lack of immunity: Chicken pox (varicella) is due to a viral infection from herpes zoster. Everyone, who has never had the infection or the vaccine is at risk of acquiring the infection from an actively infected person. Everyone else is immuned to a second exposure. Hope this helps.

Varicella: The most common reason why someone gets chicken pox (varicella) is that they have no immunity to the disease. They were either never exposed to it or were exposed but did not develop a lasting immunity to it.
