Cat scratch: First see a doctor to ensure correct diagnosis if the swollen glands do not resolve in 6-8 weeks or if associated with severe systemic symptoms. Antibiotics have not been proven to change the course of the disease but can be treated with azithromycin, Doxycycline or ciprofloxacin.

Get rid of cat: Cat scratch disease is caused by a bacteria named bartonella henselae. This is easily treatable with oral antibiotics and full recovery without residual problems is likely. Cats, however, are the source of numerous human infections. Unfortunately because they make great pets most people are reluctant to get rid of them, but this might help.
