Infection from Cats: Cat scratch disease, also known as cat scratch fever, is an infection, usually transmitted by a cat scratch or bite, manifested by a raised sore or wound (the scratch or bite), swollen lymph nodes, possibly a fever, headache or fatigue. Infection sometimes spreads elsewhere. The infectious organism, Bartonella henselae, may also be transmitted from cat saliva to an already existing open wound.
