A member asked:

What kinds of things do people see and hear when they hallucinate or does it vary?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Varies, like dreams: Hallucinations come in many forms. When hallucinating, people may perceive sounds including a voice or voices, visions, tastes, tactile sensations, and/or smells for which there is no evidence from the standpoint of everyone else. The nature of the specific hallucination being experienced often points to the cause of the hallucination. Some hallucinations seem like dreams that are occurring while awake.
