A member asked:

Do bipolars have a hard time striking a balance between optimism and pessimism?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Each time their mood changes they have to learn to live with their new emotions. It is not easy. Also, if they have a mixed mood state they can find themselves experiencing optimism and pessimism simultaneously and this can be extremely confusing to the individual.
