See a nutritionist: There really is no secret tip or trick. To normalize eating patterns you will need to have a balanced lifestyle. A major part of the equation is good sleep quality, moderate levels of activity, solid nutrition, and good coping skills to manage stress. If any of these are off, seek a professional to help in those areas. Tricks like drinking water before a meal do little to help the above.

Seek help.: A history of depression or other emotional illness could lead to overeating secondarily. With adequate treatment, your overeating could stop. Otherwise, adding fiber to your diet will curb your appetite and reduce the tendency to overeat.
