Last year i underwent a an anterior discectomy with a disc replacement at c5-c6. mri shows decompression is ok, yet i still have severe pain!?

Scar tissue: The space around the spinal cord is very delicate. Any bleeding in this area as occurs with surgery leads to formation of scar tissue which can lead to chronic pain, sometimes very intense. Talk to your surgeon or pain doctor about spinal cord stimulation or other therapies.

Arthritis: The disk replacement does not address the posterior joint arthritis which can be the pain generator. Need facet blocks the the operative level to assess if they are the cause.
